question on HWIC interface configuration

I am configuring a HWIC-1T  interface   ( on the Router)

config t

interface Vlan97

description ---Site A to Site B  ---

ip address 10.200.158.154 255.255.255.252

end

interface FastEthernet0/2/1

 description --- P2P to Other Site--

 switchport access vlan 97

 duplex full

 speed 100

i cannot even ping my own interface vlan97

and when i do sh ip int brief

Vlan98                     10.200.158.153  YES manual up                    down    ( protocol)

Any ideas ?? Do i need to add it to the switch as well ?

So yes, if it's a clear channel L2 link, just run with the transfer network above ... but then, you already ought to be able to connect from one router to the other ...

Anyway, I noticed you "show" command listed EHWIC-4ESG 98, while your config is for VLAN 97 ... copy/paste error?
